Anyone struggles with eczema or has watched a family member or friend deal with it, knows how difficult it can be. My middle daughter has struggled with eczema every winter since she was born. We are lucky that during the summer months her skin is clear but as soon as the weather changes, eczema is back to rear its ugly head. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it is for her. We have come up with a couple tricks that have help tremendously.
- Avoiding too many baths. This will be one to experiment for yourself but we learned that baths actually dry her out and cause her eczema to flair. In theory, baths are supposed to add moisture to your skin, for us it was opposite. We do no more than 2 baths per week during the winter.
- Long pants and sleeves to sleep. Bless her heart, our daughter will scratch while she sleeps. Its heartbreaking to wake up and find little blood spots on her sheets where she scratched during the night and didn’t even realize she was doing it. Sleeping with long sleeves and long pants has helped that problem tremendously!
- Keeping her cool at night. I could have listed this as 2b, because it goes along with my second point. Sweating can irritate eczema and even cause a heat rash in little ones. So while we need to her to sleep with long sleeves and pants, we are sure to keep her room a bit cooler so she doesn’t get too warm throughout the night.
- Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Twice a day, everyday, even if you don’t see any inflammation. Staying ahead of the rash is always my main goal. I never take for granted that her eczema is gone because every time I’ve thought she’s beat it, it showed me just how naïve I am. Our favorite lotion to use for her eczema is a body lotion by LimeLife by Alcone called “Forty Cure Creme.” Its the only lotion that I have found that doesn’t “burn” her skin when we put it on. Many lotions contain fragrances and other ingredients that irritate her eczema. No tears with this one!!
Forty Cure Creme is an all natural, paraben free hand and body cream. It contains a blend of Citrus and Lavender Essential Oils, and a valuable main ingredient, Tamanu Seed Oil. This oil is derived from the Tamnau Seed, also known as Foraha. It comes from a giant tree in Tahiti that is dubbed by locals as the “forty-cure tree.” It has many pain-relieving and healing properties that are great for chapped skin, caused by environmental factors or eczema. This oil is used to treat wounds, rashes, burns, eczema, rosacea, dry skin, and many other skin ailments.
You can apply the Forty Cure Creme as often as needed. For extra hydrations, liberally apply the lotion to your hands and feet, then wrap in mittens and booties to help with maximum absorption. We like to apply right before we slide on her long sleeve jammies and pants!
I found some client testimonials, read their reviews plus check out these before and after’s to see how other people have benefited from Forth Cure Creme as well!
People also like to pair Forty Cure Creme with another product, One Drop Wonder. One Drop Wonder is a carrier oil so it helps other products be absorbed deeper into the skin. Its made of one simple all natural ingredient, Pomifera Oil. It can be mixed with any products to act as a booster to enhance that product’s benefits.
I know that I am not alone in trying a million products to help with my daughter’s eczema, as well as prescription ointment from the doctor. This has been our staple product for years. You can rest easy in the fact that this product is all natural, safe for children.
